Folkston, Georgia

We spent the day at the Folkston Funnel, this is where 60 some trains go through everyday.
We were lucky enough to see the circus train go through...heading for it's winter home in Florida. This train only passes twice a year. We were on the platform with about a dozen people waiting for this train. Some of the people were from Alabama, North Carolina, and of course us crazies from California. The first time we heard of this place was on CBS, Sunday Morning.
Anyway, it was fun. We will cross into Florida today...

August 2008

Hello, I can't believe it has been only 9 weeks since we left Fresno. The last few weeks have been very eventful. Currently we are in Ravenna, Ohio. Just outside of Cleveland. We enjoyed a baseball game at Progressive field (formerly Jacobs), the Rock and Roll museum, the sights and sounds of the Blue Angles practicing over Cleveland.

Natchez, MS

What a treat we had today. Natchez, MS is the oldest town on the Mississippi River, we toured antebellum homes, took the historic city tour, had southern fried chicken for lunch and dinner on a riverboat at sunset. We leave tomorrow morning for the long awaited trip up the Natchez Trace Trail. We will stop in Jackson to tour the capital building and make a stopover near Topelo for visit Shaun's grandparents. So until next time ~

the start of our trip

Hello, We made it. After six weeks of kickin back and seeing things and places we've been before we officially are at the start of our trip. This past week we spent in Garden City, Kansas (took a side trip to see Greensburg ~ this town was "wiped off the map last year in a tornado" ) They people there are rebuilding the town but it is hard to imagine that a tornado could do this much damage? On a happier note we did see the Zoo in Garden City. After two days we left and drove out of Kansas and through Oklahoma and spent the night in Wichita Falls, TX. Long day of driving but we wanted spend at least three days in Arlington, TX. We needed a rest. Got some walking in, cleaned the RV and did some laundry (just like home) on the 5th we went into The Stockyard district in Fort Worth. We enjoyed the sights and then had according to Esquire magazine we had the "best hamburger" in town. That evening we enjoyed a ballgame, Texas Rangers won 8 to 6 against the Yankees. The next day we left for points east, arriving in Vidalia, Louisiana around 3 o'clock. Today we are off visiting the sweet sights of Natchez, Mississippi before we embark on the 444 miles of the "Natchez Trace Trail" tomorrow. Until we meet again

I wonder if anyone ever looks at this? I haven't actually posted much, have I? We left California 4 weeks ago today. We are currently in Golden, CO. Enjoyed a Dodger game on Monday night. Went to the brewery a couple of times but mostly we have just walked, rode our bikes and relaxed. Life is good.

Papas learning how to blog too

Hello Papas!!

Day One

Hello Everyone :o)

Today is the first day of our blogging, so I am just getting familiar with it. As you may know, we haven't left Fresno yet, but we are getting ready to go at the end of June. I wanted to get a blog set up so that I can keep you up to date on all of our exciting adventures.
As for now, our exciting adventures still remain in California with all of our 5 soon-to-be 7 grandchildren. Our newest baby is expected to be born within the next few weeks. I'll keep you posted on when Parker Steven Spradling arrives, assuming he is a boy, if not I'll let you know how Abigail Renee Spradling is doing :o)
Hope that you are all doing well.
